J. Grant Swank, Jr.
The
bottom line with Wall Street, American execs and DC hoodlums in
political office is that there is little if any sense of accountability.
So it goes in our Republic.
One
can listen to the newscasts all day long to get details. The more
specifics one tallies the more accountability raises its moral head in
judgment upon mortals who play god.
Yes, the innocent suffer because of the lack of integrity on the part of money grubbers.
However,
the money lusters will not go unnoticed. Not at all. They are risking
their skins here in this life. But what is terribly significant is that
they have no concern for the Judgment Seat of Christ.
In fact, I would wager these worldlings have never heard of that phrase. If they have, they surely don’t know the definition.
Yet
it is there. In the next twenty-four hours, thousands upon thousands of
souls will pass before the Judgment Seat of Christ. There they will
give an account of their earthly stay. There their eternal destinies
will be concluded. Eternal is a long, long timeless.
Christ
will not conclude those destinies. He will simply look on as these free
will agents consign themselves to the lake of fire and brimstone or the
everlasting life promised to God’s grace children.
We make our own forevers. Christ is the Judge, yes. But Christ as Judge in reality passes the gavel to the free moral agents who have decided how to act, what to say and finally where to send their souls.
These
headlines right now that are skimming chills up our spines and
unnerving our anger quotients are laden with spiritual definition. It
all hangs on morality. Really.
The secular newsfeeds don’t
impress on the morality dimension. But it is there. Those into
scriptural research see it, they feel it, they know it is true. It is
very much true.
All these
lessons in the news broadcast the folly of grabbing for the dollar—“the
love of money is the root of all evil,” per the Bible. This love of
money has led to such carnage, such heartache, such despair and
confusion.
It always does. Sinners bring immense calamity
finally upon themselves while inflicting untold pain upon the innocent.
That is because we are all interlocked. We are all community of mortals
on God’s Earth. We intersect and influence one another, whether we want
to or not.
For the grace child, he has the faith that God
works through the troubles to bring eventual good. “All things work
together for good to those who love God and are called according to His
purpose.” God’s promise is there—and throughout the Good Book.
God being God cannot renege on His promises. That is why the grace children wait upon the Lord. They stay the
course of faith. They know that past answers to prayer are guarantee of present and future answers to prayer.
The
grace children are the victors in any age, though pressed against by
pain on occasion. The final outcome is left with the Almighty. “God is
still on the throne,” grace children comfort one another.
It is not just a happy phrase. It is eternal truth, far more than we can grasp.

and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first,

worked good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile: For there is no
respect of persons with God.
Romans 14:10-12:
For
we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. For it is

account of himself to God.

Be sure your sin will find you out.
