J.
Grant Swank, Jr.
Michael Newdow
and the American Humanist Association told the judge to X-out “. . .so
help me, God” from government lips, pointing particularly to the
President’s inauguration pledge. The judge said NO.
Newdow, atheist, makes his life’s goal forming an atheist America. It won’t work.
America
will not turn totally against God. There are segments that do. So
what’s new? The fight has been going on since time’s start.
America
will continue to be blessed by God, disciplined to be certain, but blessed
by God. Why? Because of two particular prayer blocks.
One
prayer pantry is the full shelves of founding parents who sincerely
beseeched the God of the Bible constantly—in and out of government.
They never apologized for it. They just did it.
A second
prayer pantry that is full are the present-day Christians who genuinely
ask God to bless this country from shore to shore. They fight atheists
and agnostics who oppose the prayers. They know the baseline of the
battle. And they know that prayer works.
Therefore, “. . .so help me, God” will continue to continue.
By
the way, there is prayer in schools every school day. Every time a
believer prays within his and her heart on school grounds, there is
prayer in public schools. That will never end.
There is
prayer at town meetings. There is prayer at state conclaves. Those who
are present with Christ in their hearts bring with them the power of
prayer.
“The effectual, fervent prayer of the righteous
avails much.” How much? Only God knows but since God wrote it, that
prayer must count for more than any mortal could imagine.
